FAQ
It's a common misconception that an organizer's role is just “ tidying up and finding places for things”, so may cost a similar amount to a housekeeper or having cleaners come in to clean.
However, the role is much more involved than that.
You are paying for an organizer’s knowledge and ability to understand you and your unique relationship with your stuff. a To work with you to create a system that keeps on working for your lifestyle. It's about understanding the psychology of clutter and individual relationships with it.
I am here to help you explore the behaviors, reasons, and emotions behind why disorganization has become an issue for you, which in turn will help you to avoid getting into a similar situation in the future.
Additionally, some clients find value in regular ongoing maintenance visits for sustained organization.
You can actually end up saving time and money in the long run by investing in a professional organizer to work with you.
We usually schedule appointments a week or more in advance.
We require 48 hours' notice to reschedule an appointment, as this time could have been used to assist other clients.
If you are not home when we arrive as scheduled, this is also considered a cancellation.
The rescheduling/cancellation within the 48-hour window fee is a flat fee of $100.
This fee will be billed to the credit card that was used to hold the appointment.
Organizing is a process, not a quick fix.
The time needed to organize a space depends on several factors, such as its size, level of clutter, your budget, and how much effort you are willing to invest.
Are you prepared to make quick decisions and be hands-on during the process?
The detail involved in the organization also matters; for example, organizing paperwork and photos takes longer than organizing a kitchen pantry.
Remember, your home or space didn't become disorganized overnight, so it won't take just a day to get it organized. Many homes have years of accumulated items, so achieving your organizing goals may require one or several sessions.
There is typically no need to buy anything before your scheduled session. During the initial consultation, we will inform you if any items are necessary and provide appropriate advice.
As we begin the decluttering and organizing process, we will be able to determine what, if anything, may need to be purchased later on.
Many clients already have bags, boxes, and containers that can be repurposed and used. While we do not sell organizing products, we can offer guidance on what to buy and where to find it. Occasionally, we may be able to purchase items on your behalf, but only with your agreement.
